Hi, I’m Georgia

I love reading, writing, and analyzing literature. Through my classes at the University of Georgia, I have had the opportunity to explore a variety of texts to broaden my critical thinking skills. Through the New Media Certificate, I have been able to combine my creative writing and argumentative skills with more technical including website development and app development.

Envision

Here are some of the websites I’ve created including a site about my favorite album, a site about my study abroad adventures, a portfolio of my essays, and a commerce site.

Through my Web Development class, I have learned to code in HTML and CSS. I have furthered my skills in both of these languages through the use of Bootstrap and WordPress.

I am a fourth year English and Spanish student at the University of Georgia. I began the New Media Certificate because I wanted to develop technical skills in addition to the writing and communication skills I have developed through my humanities majors. I am a firm believer that both kinds of skills are of equal importance.

Project One: Artisanal hand-crafted small-batch locally-sourced bespoke website

This is a website hand-coded entirely in HTML and CSS. One of the most difficult parts of this project was learning how to use the CSS box method to achieve the spacing I wanted. I also struggled a lot with the navigation bar, and had to look for resources on Google and Youtube to help.…
